THE SENATE
The Senate is the sovereign authority of the University. It has 28 members from different domains of authorities and activities. The term of office of members of the Senate other than the ex-officio members shall be 4 years and be co-terminus with the term of the senate. The Chancellor presides over the senate.

- The Secretary to Government in charge of the General Education Department or an Officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary to Government authorised by him.
- The Secretary to Government in charge of the Labour and Skill Department or an Officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary to Government authorised by him
- The Secretary to Government in charge of the Electronics and Information Technology Department or an Officer not below the rank of a Joint Secretary to Government authorised by him.
- One member each nominated by the Syndicate or body similar to the Syndicate of other Univesitities established by State law.

- Three eminent persons nominated by the Chancellor from the field of Education.
